Play, paint, craft, and marvel with the whole family
Where it is usually very quiet, so quiet that you can hear even the smallest creaking of the centuries-old beams... Where you carefully view great art, which you would not expect outside of urban museum quarters, such as the fascinating works of Albin Egger-Lienz... Where you discover medieval craftsmanship in silent amazement - soon it will be bustling again!
The Museum of the City of Lienz starts the shortened season with a colorful program for children. An entertaining mix of painting, imagination, journeys of discovery into the Middle Ages, and exciting legends, sweetened with lots of fun, play, and crafting - all this awaits the young visitors of Schloss Bruck.
Playing where counts once lived
Family Sundays are an important part of the work of the Museum of the City of Lienz. Because even if it is a fun afternoon of play, an entertaining fairy tale hour, or a great adventure for the children - it is also important cultural work. The young visitors immerse themselves in the history of the residence castle of the Counts of Gorizia and the region in southern Austria, discover their surroundings with completely different eyes, and let their creativity run free.
As a result, they experience art, culture, history as it should be: exciting, funny, and enjoyable to share. Those who play where counts once lived also open their eyes to the wonders and diversity of culture in other areas and learn a new language - the language of art - in a simple way.
And one thing is clear: the well-being of the children is paramount. This means, of course, limited group sizes this year, advance registration, and clearly assigned play and crafting materials. We keep our distance from each other in order to be very close to art and history.
