2011: The way out - GOTHIC & BAROQUE Part II

14.05. - 26.10.2011

Some East Tyrolean and Puster Valley artists of the Baroque era emigrate due to difficult economic situations.

Johann Worath from Sand in Taufers (1609-1680)
Simon Troger from Abfaltersbach (1683-1768)
Paul Troger from Welsberg in the Puster Valley (1698-1762)
Veit Königer from Sexten (1729-1792)
Joseph Bergler the Elder from Matrei (1718-1788)
Joseph Bergler the Younger, born in Salzburg (1753-1829),
Joseph Mattersberger from Matrei (1754-1825)

They are already striving to study in well-known art centers: to Rome, Naples, Milan, Venice, Vienna, Munich, or Passau.

Far from their homeland, they find a new field of activity.

They also establish themselves in European art metropolises: in Vienna, Munich, Dresden, Prague, St. Petersburg, Breslau.

The summer exhibition at the Museum Schloss Bruck explores this "way out".
